Metro Delivery has DELIVERED ITSELF, SAME DAY!

On Saturday, 4/27/2013,  Metro Delivery moved clear across Ann Arbor, from the Southside to the Wild Westside. You probably didn’t even notice, did you?

Because we always come to your place, and you don’t drop around as often as you should…

We bid goodbye to our old address at 4480 Varsity, our home for the last 15 years or so-

Eerily empty, isn’t it?

Yes, we even brought that coffin, left to us by the deadbeat coffin salesman…

And we set up shop in our new GINORMOUS WAREHOUSE at 6241 Jackson!!…

Where we finally have a REAL LOADING DOCK, Hurray!

That’s where you’ll find us from now on- situated just next to the Van Winkle Mattress Warehouse,  at 6241 Jackson Road, Ann Arbor, MI 48103

The move across town , although short in milage, was massive in the required coordination of our staff to keep all of our systems online, all of our technology enabled, and ensure uninterrupted terrific service for our thousands of weekly customers while we moved a phenomenal amount of equipment, furniture  and assets and made  the transition, without a hitch.

Kudos and appreciation to the Metro Team for this very critical and successful same-day delivery!

Metro Delivery is MOVING but not to India

Apr 25, 2013   //   by Metro Delivery   //   Employee Highlights, Events, News, News Stories  //  4 Comments

Yes, we’re moving to our spacious NEW OFFICES & WAREHOUSE this weekend.

Metro Delivery bids a fond goodbye to the Sunny Southside of Ann Arbor, MI and, heeding the advice of Horace Greeley, heads to the Wild Westside of Ann Arbor, MI, from whence we shall continue to service the Southeastern environs of Michigan- and beyond!

And we would like be clear, we are NOT PRESENTLY moving to India:

…we all got our hopes up that Management had more expansive plans than we’d been led to believe, this morning when we found the below(click for screenshot) website, which looks remarkably like our website:

Which shows that we’ve established branches in:

India! at 41/3, Mahatma Gandhi Road Bangalore Karnataka – 560 001
PHONE NUMBER: + 917411577135

USA ADDRESS:
2075 W Stadium Blvd Ann Arbor, MI 48103 (Metro Note: That address is a U.S. Post Office in Ann Arbor. We stop in, but they don’t let us stay there)
PHONE NUMBER: + 1 310 438-6497

LONDON!
at Cortonwood Drive Brampton Barnsley S Yorkshire S73 0UF
PHONE NUMBER: + 44 703 195-3447

and…
NIGERIA!

at5/54 omolabake close of ilamoye street ijeshatedo lagos nigeria
PHONE NUMBER: +234 8133969916

…Unfortunately, that website that you see above is just another bunch of interwebs criminals who’ve copied our proprietary images and are trying to “hook” “pigeons” for their shady we’ve-got-a-package-for-you-but-you-have-to-pay-some-fees-to-get-it scam.

All the above phone numbers  etc. presumably allow you to contact actual criminals. We recommend that you avoid these weasels, if they should contact you.

Here’s a previous blog post regarding this interwebs phenomenon

…Anyway, Westside Ann Arbor is a good move for us.

LOOK OUT WESTSIDE ANN ARBOR METRO DELIVERY’S MOVIN’ IN!

But England would have been nice…

Nigeria would have been awesome…

It just goes to show, you can’t believe EVERYTHING you see on the web.

UMTRI wins Research Award for Connected Vehicles Program

Nov 8, 2012   //   by Metro Delivery   //   Employee Highlights, News, News Stories  //  No Comments

As mentioned in a previous post, Metro Delivery vehicles are being SECRETLY TRACKED by  UMTRI in a groundbreaking research project to improve vehicle safety.

For this massive collaborative effort, UMTRI just won the  “Deal of the Year” Award from annarbor.com in the Research category. We can’t imagine that it’s easy to win an award for research in Ann Arbor, what with all the research going on. But this study is so huge,  and unique, and important that we’re not surprised it took the prize.

Congratulations to our friends at UMTRI! We’re proud to be a part of this amazing study!
