I struggled with how to open this message. Then I realized that most of the people who do business with us come to think of us as friends.

For lots of reasons, I guess. But maybe the most important one is that we really like them and treat them like “care about one another” neighbors.

And like people who know each other in lots of ways, we have fun while we get the job done. Not very fancy, but it works. You’ll see why when you read our story.

Used postal jeep to satellites

Metro Delivery was founded in 1984 with one used postal jeep, one Ford Ranger, two employees, two desks and a phone. Now there’s a fleet of vehicles, road and support staff, specialized software and satellites – but some things remain the same.

Our success is still based on being scrupulously honest, working hard and doing right by our customers. It’s an old fashioned formula as valid today as it was when we made our first delivery so many years ago.

Being a good citizen

Our mission is to be a good citizen in the fullest sense. To do good within our community, to protect our employees from harm, to do well by our customers.

We believe if we do these things, everything around us will be just a little bit better.

Direct employment

All of our people are directly employed. We do not try to skirt the law, prevaricate or pretend by treating them as independent contractors. It’s good for you, good for us – and, quite honestly, just the right thing to do.

Direct employment means we tell our drivers when and how, require uniforms and picture IDs, conduct training and establish standards. It puts us legally in control for the good of your business and ours.

It also means we provide generous benefits, including fully paid medical and dental insurance, among other costs willingly assumed as part of being a responsible partner, employer and citizen.

Where everybody knows your name

We’ve got 20 plus years of great references because our staff cares about you in the old-fashioned, our customers are our friends, kind of way.


Real people answer our phones, no phone tree here. And, as our regulars will attest, our phone folks know your name and usual orders – and frequently recognize your voice before you say who you are.
